For nearly 25 years, Kristen McBride has focused her practice on estate planning, trust administration, and probate, representing individuals and their families, as well as professional trustees, both in the planning and administration of trusts and estates.

Ms. McBride recognizes that estate planning is a highly individualized process and that successful planning must take into account each client’s family and personal relationships, specific asset types and values, present and future financial and personal goals, and unique life circumstances. Ms. McBride takes pride in knowing and understanding her estate planning clients, both professionally and personally, in order to properly assist them in meeting their estate planning goals.

In addition, Ms. McBride understands that administration of trusts and estates often follows the death of a beloved family member or friend. Whether she is representing a trustee or a beneficiary, Ms. McBride recognizes the importance of administering a trust or estate according to the intentions of the decedent, while acknowledging the significant personal impact on the survivors and beneficiaries.

Ms. McBride was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005 and to the Utah State Bar in 2000. Presently, Ms. McBride is a member of the State Bar of California (Trusts and Estates Section), the San Diego County Bar Association (Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section), the Bar Association of North San Diego County (Taxation and Wills/Estates Sections), and the North County Estate Planning Council.

Ms. McBride previously was a volunteer attorney for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program.  For excellence in pro bono services provided during 2009 and 2010, Ms. McBride received the Wiley W. Manuel Award from the State Bar of California.

Prior to joining Worden Williams, Ms. McBride developed and managed the trusts and estates practice at Hobbs & Olson in Salt Lake City, Utah. In January of 2004, Ms. McBride was named by Utah Business as one of “Utah’s Elite Attorneys” in Tax, Trusts and Estate Planning. From 2001-2003 Ms. McBride was a Clinical Associate Professor of Law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. In 1998, as a law clerk and advocate for the Disability Law Center, Ms. McBride received the Steven Magleby Award for excellence in service to individuals with disabilities.
